RJ Yanez
My Story
Please meet my incredibly handsome son, RJ Yanez.
In 2020, at just 16 years old, RJ was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer. He was given just one year to live, but through God’s grace, incredible strength, and unwavering faith, RJ courageously fought for five years and five months.
Throughout his journey, we were surrounded by an amazing village. We received endless love, prayers, and support from our family, friends, and the incredible teams at St. Jude and MD Anderson. We never fought alone, and for that, we will be forever grateful.
On December 1, 2025, RJ gained his wings, surrounded by the love of his family. Not a single day goes by that we don’t miss his smile, his strength, and his beautiful heart.
Today, we carry on his legacy through RJSTRONG and the RJSTRONG Foundation, honoring his mission to bring hope, love, faith, and support to other families facing pediatric brain cancer.
